The 3 star surf is for proficient paddlers (you know who you are). Your rolling skills do not have to be bomb proof but pretty good. There's no age restrictions simply competence & interest. I have no confirmed dates but it will run on a Sat morning (training) & Sun morning (assessment) late Feb/early March. The price will be £10.00 per/day p/person for iow cc members & £20.00 p/day p/person for non-iow cc members. It would be useful if you could send the message out far & wide in order to have enough people for the course & to generate some income for the IOW CC.

Introduction to Kayak Surfing

The course aims to introduce paddlers to the exciting & dynamic world of kayak surfing. Those wanting to participate will have begun to develop their fundamental kayaking skills & have some experience of paddling outdoors. It’s not a pre-requisite for paddlers to have a bomb proof roll but some experience of rolling is desirable.

Paddlers will have the opportunity to develop personal paddling skills, improve group & personal safety awareness & self-rescue skills within a surfing environment.

This is an ideal pre-requisite training opportunity for anyone planning to attend a 3 star kayak surfing course in the future.

The price: £20
(10% Discount for IOW Canoe Club Members = £18.00)
(20% Discount for IOW Canoe Club Members who are also members of the BCU = £16.00)

(100% Discount for under 18 years if Members of the IOW Canoe Club = FREE)
(50% Discount for under 18 years if not members of the IOW Canoe Club = £10.00).

N/B: The IOW Canoe Club holds a small pool of paddling kit available to hire for a small fee, if required.
